- Per-type Max Move damage: Each Gigantamax is evaluated by its G-Max move’s tier rank within its primary type.
- Type coverage demand: Ghost and Fire coverage are needed more often than Water in current boss windows. Demand-weighted utility scores higher.
- Tank profile: Bulk and resistances factor in for picks that double as tanks (Venusaur, Blastoise specifically).
- Acquisition cost: All four come from limited Max Battle windows, so candy access is comparable. The ranking is about practical use value, not build effort.

The 4 Kanto Gigantamax Ranked
Gigantamax Gengar
Ghost / Poison — G-Max Terror is the top Ghost Max Move in the game. Ghost coverage is needed against Psychic-typed bosses (very common rotation) and other Ghost-types. Easily the highest-impact Kanto Gigantamax to build.
Gigantamax Charizard
Fire / Flying — G-Max Wildfire is a top-tier Fire Max Move (#2 behind Gigantamax Cinderace). Fire coverage hits Steel / Ice / Bug / Grass bosses, which cover a wide rotation slice.
Gigantamax Venusaur
Grass / Poison — G-Max Vine Lash is the second-best Grass Max Move (Gigantamax Rillaboom is #1). Solid bulk also lets it tank-and-attack against Water / Ground / Rock bosses.
Gigantamax Blastoise
Water — G-Max Cannonade is usable but outclassed by Gigantamax Inteleon and Primal Kyogre at the top of the Water tier. Solid bulk; useful as a budget Water tank when neither alternative is built.
