Fused Kyurem only appears in Pokémon GO during limited Raid Day windows where you can collect Reshiram or Zekrom Energy and fuse it back into Kyurem. Once you’ve fused it, you have to choose: White Kyurem (Reshiram-fused) or Black Kyurem (Zekrom-fused). Both are top-tier Legendaries with shared base stats but very different signature moves and roles. This guide compares them side-by-side and tells you which to build first.
How This Comparison Was Calculated
- Stats: Both forms share 310 / 183 / 245 base — top-three Attack stat in the game (tied with Mega Rayquaza).
- Raid utility: Per-type DPS / eDPS for Ice and Dragon, comparing each form’s signature charge move (Ice Burn for White, Freeze Shock for Black) plus secondary types.
- PvP utility: Master League Stat Product and matchup spread vs the top 40 ML picks.
- Source data: based on values recalculated on this site from the live Pokémon GO game master — Doctor Pokégogo’s own DPS / Stat Product / GBL meta analytics.

The Two Forms Ranked

White Kyurem

Dragon / Ice — The #1 non-Mega Ice raid attacker. Signature move Ice Burn is one of the strongest Ice charge moves in the game. Also can run Cross Flame as a Fire sub-move (formerly Reshiram-exclusive). Top pick against Dragon, Ground, Flying, and Grass bosses (Rayquaza, Garchomp, Landorus, Tapu Bulu).

Black Kyurem

Dragon / Ice — Top-tier Dragon attacker. Signature move Freeze Shock doubles as Ice + Electric coverage. Also runs Fusion Bolt (formerly Zekrom-exclusive). Slightly higher raw firepower than White but Dragon is a far more crowded type, with Rayquaza / Palkia / Salamence already filling the slot.
Stat Comparison
Base stats are identical — both forms use 310 / 183 / 245. The difference comes entirely from signature moves and secondary type coverage.
| Form | Type | Atk / Def / HP | Signature | Sub Move |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| White Kyurem | Dragon / Ice | 310 / 183 / 245 | Ice Burn (Ice) | Cross Flame (Fire) |
| Black Kyurem | Dragon / Ice | 310 / 183 / 245 | Freeze Shock (Ice) | Fusion Bolt (Electric) |
| Kyurem (regular) | Dragon / Ice | 246 / 170 / 245 | Glaciate | — |
Raid Role Comparison
| Role | White Kyurem | Black Kyurem |
|---|---|---|
| Top Ice | ★★★★★ (#1 non-Mega) | ★★★★★ (tied) |
| Top Dragon | ★★★★☆ | ★★★★★ (#1 non-Mega) |
| Fire backup (Cross Flame) | ★★★☆☆ | — |
| Electric backup (Fusion Bolt) | — | ★★★☆☆ |
| Master League | ★★★★☆ | ★★★★☆ |
Field Effect — Ice Burn / Freeze Shock
Both signature moves trigger a field effect when used in the wild after a raid: the target ring slows down, making it easier to land Excellent throws. Useful for grinding catch streaks or taking down hard-to-catch Legendaries with limited Premier Balls.
Bottom Line
Default to White Kyurem. It’s the only non-Mega Ice attacker that can compete with Mega Glalie / Shadow Mamoswine, and Ice is one of the most useful raid types in the game. Build Black Kyurem second — it’s an excellent Dragon attacker, but you probably already have Rayquaza or Palkia covering that slot. If you have the energy and resources, build both — Fused Kyurem Raid Days are limited windows and you may not get another chance for a year.
